Welcome to Historic South Gainesville.  We hope you enjoy viewing our blog and learning more about our in-town neighborhood.  If you find yourself in north Texas give us a visit ... we'll be sure to roll out the red carpet.

Our neighborhood has much to offer in terms of charm, hospitality, and an inviting small town atmosphere. Take a leisurely stroll or drive our historic route to see the diverse architecture found in our neighborhood. Note the Victorian mansions, stately Tudors, charming cottages, mid-century modern, and American eclectic four-squares and farmhouses.  Make sure and wave hello because you just might be invited up on the front porch for some spirited conversation.

Not to be missed are the various activities throughout our town.  Please visit our links page to learn more about local attractions.

Gainesville, Texas is conveniently located north of the Dallas ~ Ft. Worth Metroplex on Interstate 35 just south of the Red River and the Oklahoma ~ Texas border.  Exit California Street and head east to our historic downtown square with specialty shops, restaurants, and our restored court house.

We live large in Gainesville and invite you to join in our "joie de vivre."
